Great Wall Marathon
So much enthusiasm at the early morning start; so many smiles at the finish. In between 1800 people from 53 countries ran on the Great Wall of China. Full marathoners ran on it twice – 3.6km and 5164 steps.
The marathon is a tough, beautiful and extraordinary experience in the mountains of Tianjin Province, China. In addition to crossing the Great Wall, the course passes through charming rural villages where crops are being planted, spring growth is fresh on the trees and residents cheer runners as they pass by their homes.

Jonathan Brownlee, the younger brother of reigning world champion Alistair, finished a surprising second; Germany's Jan Frodeno claimed the final spot on the podium. Plus over 3000 triathletes took part in the age group Olympic distance and sprint distance races over the weekend.

Gold Coast Airport Marathon
It's now Australia's largest marathon! More than 5000 crossed the start in the Gold Coast Airport Marathon – 1000 more than last year. In total 23,800 competed in a new two-day format covering six distances. It was the ninth year of growth for the event and organisers say the change to two days will allow for more growth in future. The Gold Coast provided perfect running condtions on a route that largely followed the region's stunning ocean coastline.
